Splash Pad at Sydney Outlet Village (Fashion Spree)

Sydney Outlet Village, formerly known as Fashion Spree, set out to create more than a pass-through space in its central plaza. The goal was to establish a vibrant focal point, one that would draw people in, invite them to linger, and add a sense of energy and play to the shopping experience. 

To bring that vision to life, Sydney Outlet Village worked closely with Waterplay to deliver a custom splash pad that combines visual impact with interactive fun. From supplying the splash pad features to supporting installation, Waterplay was involved throughout the project, helping transform the space into a welcoming destination for families and visitors alike. Built above the shopping centre’s existing car park structure, the project required careful planning and coordination to ensure the system performed reliably while meeting the site’s unique structural and operational needs. 

The splash pad features a collection of Waterplay ground sprays, including Solo Spurts, Starlet Sprays, and Straight Up Sprays, creating playful bursts of water that surprise and delight as visitors move through the space. Integrated LED Glow Effects extend the experience into the evening hours, adding colour, light, and atmosphere that keeps the area lively well after the sun goes down. 

Efficiency was a key consideration throughout the design. The splash pad operates on a recirculation water management system with advanced filtration, allowing water to be collected, treated, disinfected, and safely returned to the play area. This approach helps conserve local water resources while keeping long-term operating costs manageable. 

By weaving interactive aquatic play into the heart of the centre, Sydney Outlet Village has created a welcoming place where families can cool off and spend time together between shops. With Waterplay involved from product supply through installation support, the result is a reliable, low-maintenance water feature that adds lasting value while bringing a little extra joy to the everyday shopping experience.
