Inspired by Durban’s subtropical beaches, this spray pad at the Wave House entertainment centre brings sand and surf to the big city. Located in the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the space takes kids and families on a cool adventure. Set sail on a magnificent pirate ship, navigate tidal waves from the Mega Soaker, or chill out under showering palm trees. But watch for spraying tentacles—a giant sea monster lurks!
Flagship features from Waterplay's High Sea Collection, including the pirate's Mega Soaker dumping bucket and Calypso ship helm, helped to bring this aquatic oasis to life. Blues, reds and blacks from the Nautical Colour Collection establish a cohesive theme across a spacious layout of features, ranging from action-packed water cannons to smaller toddler sprays. The pad surface completes the design by mapping out golden shores and deep blue sea, pulling everything together for a truly immersive play experience. Thanks to the great work of our partners at Playscape Playground Solutions, the pad perfectly complements the venue's high-action waterslides and surf rides with leisurely exploration and discovery.
