Okotoks Arts & Learning Campus

When local donors provided funding to enhance the Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus, the goal was to create an outdoor space that would give back to the community. The Town of Okotoks wanted the plaza to host events, welcome families, and bring new energy to the heart of the campus. With a specific request from the donors to incorporate water into the design and create something engaging for children, Parkworks led the project and partnered with Waterplay to supply the splash pad features and water management system that would help bring the space to life. 

Working alongside Parkworks and the Town of Okotoks, Waterplay supported the design of a splash pad that complements the campus’s artistic setting. Rather than relying on bright colours, the space takes a more architectural approach with brushed stainless-steel features and clean lines throughout. Eye-catching elements like the Helices add height and movement, while Water Weaver 2, Fun-Brella, and Wobbly Cannons invite kids to jump in and explore. Ground sprays and LED Luminary Sprays are integrated directly into the plaza surface, transforming the space with playful water and light after sunset. 

Behind the fun is thoughtful engineering built for long-term performance. Waterplay’s recirculation water management system collects, filters, treats, and reuses water before returning it to the play surface, helping the splash pad operate efficiently while delivering a great experience day after day. The result is a flexible community space that easily shifts from market and event hub to splash-filled summer destination.
