CSi Club Southport

Across Australia, licensed clubs are evolving beyond traditional gaming and dining offerings to become family-focused destinations. At CSi Club Southport, that evolution took shape as a compact indoor splash pad designed to transform a traditional club visit into a memorable family experience. 

To help bring that vision to life, they enlisted the help of Waterplay, who partnered with Urban Play and BCCS Construction Solutions to design and install a compact, high-impact indoor splash pad that would integrate seamlessly into the club environment. Every element was carefully considered to maximize play value within a relatively small footprint while creating an accessible and inclusive experience that welcomes children of different ages, abilities, and comfort levels. The project demonstrates that creating a memorable family attraction is not about having more space. It is about using space more intentionally. 

Small footprint, big play value 

Wanting to engage as many children as possible, the splash pad encourages active discovery through hands-on aquatic play. Children can spin the finger and water wheels of the Waterfall 1 to control cascading water, experiment with flow using the Basin, or manipulate the adjustable weirs of the Sea Urchin to redirect and interrupt water movement. These cause-and-effect splash pad experiences invite curiosity, problem-solving, and collaborative play while helping children develop cognitive, social, and motor skills through exploration. 

Play at every comfort level 

The experience continues throughout the splash pad with interactive elements designed to support a range of ages, abilities, and play styles. A Puddle rewards movement by surrounding children with playful bursts of water as they jump, while strategically placed Solo Spurt, Steady Stream, and Mister Mister ground sprays create gentle, approachable interactions for visitors who may prefer a quieter or less intense way to engage. Integrated LED Glow Effects add another layer of excitement by transforming the atmosphere when the lights go down, extending the sensory experience beyond the water itself. Together, these varied experiences give children more freedom to participate at their own pace and in the way that feels right for them. 

A Power Post activator placed at the edge of the splash pad gives children the opportunity to initiate play themselves, creating a stronger sense of ownership and anticipation before the water begins to flow. Beyond enhancing the guest experience, the activator also supports more efficient operation by ensuring water is only used when the splash pad is actively being enjoyed.
