Inclusive, accessible summer fun at Skaha Lake!

While re-designing the Skaha Lake Splash Pad after more than 20 years of serving the community, the City of Penticton, along with other project partners, determined that accessibility and inclusivity needed to be key features in the newly re-imagined space. Working closely with the park experts at Parkworks, the Waterplay team brought forward a splash pad design that not only boasts great accessibility and inclusivity but also adds additional seating and misting elements to the space.

Various splash pad features – including Fellows, a Sling Soaker, POI Spinner, and more – create a fun and vibrant space for families to gather and cool off during the hot summer months. The addition of a large seating wall creates a gathering space for those who might want to enjoy the splash pad and watch everyone play without getting wet themselves. Custom misters were built directly into the concrete seating wall, creating a unique cooling space that can be enjoyed by all.

Fully re-imagined and promising excitement with every splash, the revitalized Skaha Lake Splash Pad officially opened in July 2025 has already proved to be a favourite spot within the community.
