When the City of Cedar Park, Texas decided that they wanted to add a splash pad as a new amenity for Brushy Creek Park, the Waterplay team delivered a design that pulled everything they wanted into a vibrant and fun aquatic play space. With existing nature and recreation trails already enjoyed by the community, Brushy Creek Park was the perfect location for this brand-new splash pad.  

Featuring a variety of different products from Waterplay, the new Brushy Creek Splash Pad has created a splashy space for families from all over the city to enjoy! 

The Challenge

The city of Cedar Park only had a few specific requests when it came to designing the splash pad. First, they wanted to incorporate the city’s brand and logo into the design in some way, which was achieved by adding a custom logo graphic to the Sky Soaker dumping bucket and incorporating elements of the logo into the splash pad surfacing.  

The city requested LifeFloor as their preferred surfacing option, so Waterplay worked closely with the LifeFloor team to create a vibrant and dynamic surfacing design that would really make the new splash pad stand out. The blue and green colour scheme plays off the colours of the splash pad features well, pulling together a cohesive space. 

LifeFloor’s aquatic surfacing is slip-resistant, resistant to UV and chemicals, and super cushy, making it a great low-maintenance surfacing option for this splash pad.  

The Solution

Waterplay’s expert team of designers had a great time pulling the design together for this space, providing the City of Cedar Park with a competitive price point and a creative, alternative design that incorporates a huge range of play value for kids of all ages and abilities. Partnering with Landmark Aquatic, who provided and helped install the water treatment system, helped the Waterplay team pull this product through to completion.  

Landmark Aquatic also helped with optimizing the splash pad equipment and ensuring that the entire installation process went smoothly.  

The Implementation

Featuring a wide range of products that cater to all ages and abilities, the Brushy Creek Splash Pad has something for everyone!  

A towering Speedracer titan offers sprays and splashes from all angles. Two additional dumping buckets – the branded Sky Soaker and a Sling Soaker– create thrilling anticipation for kids eagerly waiting for the next big splash, while a Waterfall 2 and Basin provide gentler play experiences for smaller Waterplayers.  

Kids can challenge each other to spray battles with the Splash Blasters or race each other through the Aqua Arch and Water Os, with several different ground sprays dotted throughout the entire play space. The design of this splash pad truly maximized the play value of the space, creating an exciting spot for families to enjoy while beating the hot Texas heat.  

The overall installation of the splash pad itself went smoothly, with some minor adjustments made to the Speedracer titan to ensure its buckets were dumping properly once installed. The Waterplay team supported the installation by coming out to Cedar Park and making the necessary adjustments to ensure that Speedracer would work smoothly to deliver maximum splashes to the pad.  

The Outcome

From the wide variety of splash pad features to the vibrant LifeFloor surfacing, the Brushy Creek Splash Pad is a stunning aquatic play space. The colour sceme and aesthetics of the entire splash pad is spot-on, and the incorporation of the city’s logo throughout really pulled the entire design together.  

The splash pad has added incredible value to an already beautiful and frequently visited park and recreation area, providing parents and guardians with another amenity to enjoy with their kids while they’re at the park.  

Brushy Creek Splash Pad hosted their official grand opening on May 6th, 2025, and the ribbon cutting was an absolute blast. The mayor, city employees and residents of Cedar Park were all in attendance, along with a few members of the Waterplay team.  

Adding a new, splashy amenity to Brushy Creek Park has created a new community gathering place where families can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun! Jam-packed full of thrilling features, the Brushy Creek Splash Pad will continue to be a fun destination for the community to enjoy for years to come.
