Introducing Waterplay World
A proposed destination on Rattlesnake Island, BC
Some places are known for what they are.
Others are known for what they almost become.
Rattlesnake Island has always been the latter.
Now, Waterplay is proposing something different.
In partnership with the Government of British Columbia, we’re designing a full-scale island aquatic destination – Waterplay World™. Pending approvals, construction could begin as early as next summer.
“Rattlesnake Island has always been surrounded by stories. Stories of what it was, and what it might one day become.
We saw an opportunity to finally bring that vision to life in a way only Waterplay could.
Waterplay World is about thinking bigger, pushing further, and creating something that feels almost unreal—until you’re standing in the middle of it while 10,000 litres of water dumps on you!”
—Jill White, President and Owner, Waterplay
Big ideas have lived here before.
In the 1970s, Rattlesnake Island was to be home to an ambitious amusement park, complete with a pyramid, a mini golf course, and Middle-Eastern themed attractions.
It never made it to completion.
Waterplay World builds on that legacy—not by repeating it, but by finally delivering something worthy of the setting.
This is no typical waterpark.
It’s an entire island reimagined through water, movement, and play.
- A 10,000-litre peach Mega Soaker
- A continuous lazy river circling the island
- A shimmering, splashing pyramid, inspired by its past
- A winding rattlesnake waterslide that spits riders into Okanagan Lake
- A 15-foot tall Sand Shell Tide Pool
- Every. Single. Product. Waterplay Manufactures. (Oh, and every single ground spray too.)
Designed with sustainability at its core, Waterplay World integrates:
- A fully closed loop recirculation system to manage water
- Solar-powered lighting to keep the water splashing well after the sun goes down
- A design approach that integrates respectfully into the Okanagan landscape
Others make a VERY big splash.
