Final installation - 7 days from start to finish!
The ABC Network’s generosity is extreme and Waterplay was thrilled to have worked with them and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition by donating aquatic playground equipment for the Harris family of Birmingham, Alabama.
The Harris family is America’s first ever surviving set of African-American sextuplets. Along with their older brother and parents, the sextuplets were left with a house in disrepair after Hurricane Ivan swept through the area. That is until Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, starring Ty Pennington, came into town.
Ty, his team of designers and countless volunteers completely rebuilt the Harris house into a sprawling 5,000 square foot mansion in less than 7 days. Beyond the walls of the house however, was the yard of every child’s dreams. This was where Waterplay became involved.
Waterplay’s backyard spraypark consisted of their trademark custom graphic water-o’s, towering daisy mae’s, graphic water cannons and ground sprays. Craig White, President, Sales and Operations for Waterplay witnessed the families reveal and was thrilled when the young children ran directly into the spraypark with huge smiles on their faces. “Making children laugh and smile is really what it is all about. The fact that they are also out of harm’s way is just an amazing feeling. You cannot appreciate how good it feels to be part of a project like this until you experience it first hand.”
Waterplay’s zero-depth wet play structures are a perfect fit for any backyard. They can comprise a spraypark or complement a pool with one or two components.
Waterplay would like to thank the following suppliers for being part of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project.
