Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities of the Accountant include supporting and managing the accounting processes for multiple entities, including managing cash, receivables, payables, general ledgers, consolidations and financial reporting requirements.     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with full cycle accounting and month end processes for multiple corporate entities to ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness
  • Process sales orders and correspond with customers on outstanding accounts
  • Verification, coding and entering of vendor purchase orders
  • Correspond with vendors to resolve invoicing or account discrepancies
  • Process cheque runs, electronic funds and wire transfers
  • Process payroll and manage employee benefits across multiple entities
  • Process government filings and remittances
  • Prepare bank adjusting entries and prepare bank reconciliations
  • Assist with general ledger account reconciliations, perform account analysis
  • Assist with intercompany account reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of departmental reports
  • Review and maintain internal control policies to ensure prevention of errors and discrepancies, as well as adherence to GAAP and the accounting policies of each entity
  • Review inventory valuations and reconcile discrepancies for all inventories, including WIP, Finished Goods, and Raw Materials
  • Review job costing and provide margin analysis supporting the gross profit results by entity, project and product line
  • Assist in developing, implementing and measuring cost reduction initiatives
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to meet regulatory body reporting and remittance requirements
  • Assist with preparation of year-end working papers

Technical Skill Requirement:


  • Accounting degree or diploma required
  • Enrollment in a recognized Accounting designation preferred


  • 3-5 years in a full cycle accounting role
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP
  • Established and proven knowledge of accounting and financial processes
  • Solid grasp for understanding data analysis and the ability to interpret and communicate results
  • Experience with foreign currencies, intercompany transactions, and consolidations required
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience providing accounting services from a centralized head office environment an asset


  • High degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Ability to set priorities in a multi-task environment 


  • Strong MS Office skills (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM)
  • Proficient in accounting software (ex. Sage 50, Quickbooks, Simply)
  • ERP experience preferred
